Find the referral tied to your account
Your own referral link or code identifies you as the referrer. It is different from a code you used to join, a merchant coupon, a gift card number, or a general promotion advertised to every customer.
Look for language such as Refer a friend, Invite friends, Earn rewards, or Share your link. The destination may sit under Profile, Account, Rewards, Benefits, or Settings. If the company gives you both a link and a short code, copy the full link when possible because it preserves the intended destination and attribution.
Use the value shown in your account
Do not extract a random-looking segment from a URL unless the company labels it as your code. A campaign ID or tracking parameter may not work by itself.
A reliable way to look
- Sign in through the company’s official app or a manually entered official website.
- Open Profile, Account, Rewards, Benefits, or Settings.
- Look for the referral or invitation area and read the current offer before sharing.
- Use the company’s Copy or Share control rather than retyping the URL or code.
- Save the terms, deadline, and qualifying action with the referral so you can describe it accurately.
If you only find a field asking you to enter a code, that is probably for receiving an offer, not sharing your own. The referral and promo code comparison can help identify the difference.
Where several companies place referrals

Fetch
In Fetch, open Profile and choose Refer a Friend to view and share your referral code. Fetch may offer eligible users the option to customize a code; its help page explains limits on format and how often a custom code can change. Official Fetch referral instructions and custom code guidance.
Chime
Chime directs eligible members to Profile, Refer a friend, then Invite friends, where the personal link can be shared. The offer shown there controls the current reward and requirements. Official Chime referral overview.
Dropbox
On Dropbox.com, choose your avatar, Settings, and Refer a friend, then use Copy next to the invite link. The same area shows referral status and bonus space. Team accounts cannot send referrals under the program described on that page. Official Dropbox referral instructions.
Rakuten
Rakuten says members can get their unique link from the Refer-A-Friend page after signing in. That page also shows referral activity. Official Rakuten Refer-A-Friend FAQ.
Coinbase
Coinbase points users to its referrals page on Coinbase.com or Invite Friends in the mobile app. Offer criteria differ, so share the link together with the terms currently attached to it. Official Coinbase referral help.
Copy and verify without changing the referral
- Copy the entire HTTPS link, including its path and query string.
- Paste it into a private note first and compare the domain with the company’s official domain.
- Keep capitalization exactly as provided for short codes.
- Do not use a link shortener when the program forbids obscured destinations.
- Do not click through and create a second account to test it. Instead, confirm that the landing page loads and shows the expected company.
Never share a password, one-time login code, recovery phrase, API key, account number, or private invitation intended only for you. A normal referral should be safe to share through the program’s own Share control.
Why a referral option may be missing
The company may not offer its program to your region, plan, account type, or current cohort. The feature may require account verification, be paused, have an annual cap, or only appear in the mobile app. Some programs exclude business, team, restricted, or otherwise ineligible accounts.
Search the company’s official help center for “refer a friend” while signed in. If its documentation describes a program you cannot see, contact official support. Avoid third-party instructions that ask you to reveal account credentials or install unknown software.
Share it with useful context
