Where to post your referral links and codes

The best place to share a referral is somewhere it answers a real need, respects the rules, and gives people useful context.

Check the referral program rules first

Companies set their own rules for where and how referral links or codes may be shared. Some welcome public posts, while others limit sharing to friends, family, or private conversations. Check the current program terms before posting, and do not imply that you represent the company.

Choose places where the referral is genuinely useful

Different channels work for different audiences. Good options can include:

  • People who have asked for a recommendation. A direct message or personal conversation can be appropriate when someone is already interested.
  • Relevant community discussions. Forums, groups, and local communities may allow referrals when they directly answer the topic. Read each community’s promotion rules before posting.
  • Your own website, newsletter, or social profile. These give you room to explain your experience and disclose that you may receive a reward.
  • Curated referral marketplaces. Sites organized around referral discovery can help people find an offer by company instead of searching through unrelated posts.

Make the post useful on its own

State what the company offers, what a new customer may receive, and any important eligibility or purchase requirement you know. Mention that rewards and terms can change, identify the link or code clearly, and disclose that you may benefit if it is used. Avoid guarantees, urgency that is not real, or claims you cannot verify.

Give before you ask

A useful explanation should stand on its own even if the reader never clicks. Lead with the recommendation, tradeoffs, and current context—not the reward you hope to earn.

Avoid spam and broad copy-and-paste posting

Posting the same referral everywhere can violate community rules and make the offer less trustworthy. Do not place links in unrelated conversations, contact strangers repeatedly, conceal a referral destination, or use misleading account names. A smaller number of relevant placements is usually more useful than a large number of unwanted ones.

Everette Affiliate is one curated option

Everette Affiliate organizes community-submitted referral links and codes by supported company. Submissions are reviewed before publication, Standard placement is free, and optional Boosted or Featured placement is available for approved referrals that want more visibility. Visitors can compare available referrals in the context of the company they are already exploring. Use the referral tracker template to keep public listings aligned with the current provider link and terms.

Quick checklist before you share

  • The company currently permits the way you plan to share.
  • The community or platform allows referral content.
  • Your reward description is accurate and not guaranteed.
  • Your referral relationship is clearly disclosed.
  • The link or code works and points to the intended company.
